Who it’s for
Canteen and cafeteria ordering without the long counter queue
KioSync helps canteens and cafeterias shorten the counter queue: people order from their phone or at the counter, can pay online before the kitchen starts, and the kitchen sees one list, with optional item totals for batch cooking.
Order from the table, collect at the counter
Put a QR code on each table; you can print every table’s code on one PDF sheet. People scan it, choose takeaway and order from their own phone, with no app to install, and people who eat in can choose dine-in instead. Each order gets an order number and a tracking page, so people can check its progress before collecting it from the counter. The cart is saved on the phone, so a dropped connection doesn’t empty it; ordering pauses until the connection is back.
Pay before cooking
With cash turned off, orders reach the kitchen only after the payment gateway confirms payment. Online orders appear on the kitchen screen only after payment is confirmed, whatever your cash setting. Online payments that are started but not finished cancel themselves after 20 minutes, and people can cancel an order themselves while it’s still queued. Payments go through your own Razorpay, PayU or PhonePe account, and KioSync takes no commission; see payments.
Prep in batches
At lunch in an office canteen or at break time in a college canteen, the optional prep view, switched on for your restaurant on request, totals each item across tables, for example “Paneer Tikka ×5 — Table 6 ×4, Table 7 ×1”, so the kitchen can cook the same dish in one batch instead of order by order.
Ordering follows your opening hours
Set your opening hours once. KioSync pauses ordering automatically when the canteen is closed, including hours that run past midnight, and the menu takes orders again when you open.
Walk-ups at the counter
Staff ring up walk-up orders at the counter from the same menu, and those orders join the same queue on the kitchen display as phone orders. Counter billing runs in the browser, so a tablet or laptop at the counter is enough. Staff record whether each person paid by cash, UPI, card and so on, and a dish marked sold out is off QR and counter ordering at once.
Bills and records
Paid orders get GST tax invoices with your GSTIN and the CGST/SGST split, or a Bill of Supply if you aren’t GST-registered. Download a CSV with taxable value, CGST and SGST for your CA. Sales analytics on the Basic and Pro plans adds summaries, trends, item-wise and hourly sales, so you can see your busiest hours and dishes. An activity log records who changed menus, prices, payments and settings. More on GST billing.
Frequently asked questions
Do people need to install an app?
No. With KioSync, people scan the QR code and order in their phone’s browser, with no app to install.
Can ordering stop automatically when the canteen closes?
Yes. KioSync pauses ordering automatically outside the opening hours you set.
Can people pay online first?
Yes. With cash turned off, people pay online first, and KioSync sends an order to the kitchen only after the payment gateway confirms payment.
Is there a token screen for collection?
Not yet. KioSync has no token screen today; people get an order number and a tracking page on their phone.
Can people pay with meal cards or a company wallet?
Not at the moment. KioSync has no meal-card or company-wallet integration; people pay at the counter, where staff record whether they paid by cash, UPI, card and so on, or online through your own Razorpay, PayU or PhonePe account.
